Tangle Free Waters Cleanup Initiative

Help keep our rivers, lakes and oceans beautiful!

Last year, the founding members of Tangle Free Waters created an environmental organization called The Clean Earth Foundation to clean up local trails and parks across North America. We were able to clean up over 500 pounds of garbage on our trail cleanup initiative!

This year we are launching the “Tangle Free Waters Lakes and River’s Cleanup Program.”  Our goal is to double our previous efforts and cleanup over 1000 pounds of trash from local bodies of water this year.

Tangle Free Waters will work with volunteers to cleanup plastic pollution from local bodies of water across North America. We will also document the types of litter collected, in order to better understand the effects plastic pollution and trash has on marine wildlife and the local environment surrounding the bodies of water we clean.

Volunteers will need to wear long-sleeved shirts, pants, and shoes that can get muddy. All cleanup supplies will be provided. Stay tuned to our blog and social media channels to see when our next cleanup is happening

A Clean Earth Cleanup At Decew Falls

Over 80 percent of marine debris comes from land, so stopping the flow of litter to lakes, rivers and oceans is of extreme importance. Our hope is that this new initiative will motivate others to do a better job at keeping our waters litter and tangle-free as well as inspire them to organize their own local cleanups. We aim to rally communities to preserve, improve and protect our rivers, lakes and oceans for generations to come.

Tangle Free Waters strives to End Littering, Inspire Recycling and Improve North America’s environment. We believe everyone has a right to live in a clean, green and beautiful community and we share a responsibility to contribute to that vision. Join us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
