Tangle Free Waters

Tangle Free Waters was created due the effects pollution has on our environment and the wildlife it can destroy.

A local fishing trip was held in the early spring of 2019, where a group of friends headed out to see what they could catch. To their luck, nothing was caught besides a large spool of line. Devastated by this discovery, the team set out to explore the potential impacts and dangers that abandoned line could have on the environment. Upon further research, the team realized that the abundant amount of stray fishing line threatened marine life, tourism, fisheries and businesses in the affected locations.

Something had to be done, thus “Tangle Free Waters” was formed. To prevent such issues from arising, the team set out to create “Tangle-less” bins which are used to collect and hold wasted fishing line, hooks, sinkers and bait bags. In order for this to work, responsibility ultimately lies on the fishermen as they must practice safe angling methods. Our “Tangle-less” bins provide a simple, accessible and an effective way to keeping our waters tangle free.
