FAQs

Why Do We Use And Install Our "Tangle-less Bins"?

The fishing line recycling bins or “Tangle-less Bins” we install are a specialized recycling container. The problem with fishing line is that it is made up of high density plastics which require a unique recycling process to completely break down the material. If thrown out in a regular recycling bin or garbage can, the line risks the chance of either blowing away into our environment or an animal of some sort becomes tangled or uses the line as a nest. If this happens the line is durable enough to last up to 100 years plus before it degrades, poses serious threats to our wildlife and pollutes our waters and other natural habitats. At Tangle Free Waters we sort, store, then ensure that it is recycled properly at the correct manufacturer.

What Do Bracelets Sales Go Towards?

All sales go directly towards funding Tangle Free Waters operations. This includes organizing cleanups and purchasing cleanup supplies (i.e garbage bags, gloves & recycling bags). Funding the cost included in building and installing the “Tangle-less Bins” (Each bin costs $50 to build as well as extra costs to install). As well as funding the costs associated with operating, hosting and managing our website. All other associated costs that come with operating an organization dedicated towards protecting our waters and our environment.
